As a researcher, I'm interested in wildlife. I work to use strong inference and evolutionary theory to understand their behaviors, natural histories, and the ecosystems they inhabit - their worlds. I'm also interested in the human and environmental context of these animal worlds, and the intraspecies dialogue we create around wildlife. What stories do we tell each other to distance, empathize, understand or exult wildlife? And why?
Thus, as a wildlife biologist and writer, I work to help facilitate a candid collaboration between the scientific, conservation, and indigenous or local communities in living with wildlife and wildness.
